My Bio
My story
He began his deaf ministry work in 1991. In 1996, he founded Al Yadav Ministries, Inc. (A non-profit training organization for Deaf ministries). He serves as one of the lead interpreters and ministry trainer for Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, Hands of Praise Deaf Ministry, under the leadership of Pastor Fred Luter, Jr. in New Orleans, LA.
On the professional side, Noah has taught ASL1 and ASL2 at Delgado Community College in New Orleans, LA, ASL1 and Religious Signing at Southern University at New Orleans, served as Conference Professional Development Chair for National Alliance of Black interpreters, Inc. (NAOBI), and served as educational interpreter for several universities, colleges and secondary schools.
Noah has also previously served as Interpreter Coordinator for the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo Music Festivals. In addition, he does professional development workshops and skills building seminars for interpreters. He has been a flight attendant with Delta Airlines, Inc. for more than 12 years and he is based in New York City. He serves as Interpreter Coordinator for the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.
I Believe
God has given His vision to the church. That vision, expressed so clearly in the above scripture, Revelations 7:9. The Deaf Ministry that I see in this 21st century is inseparably linked to the hearing church in its quest for Christ on Earth, His mission, His kingdom and the Great Commission. In this 21st Century Deaf Ministry, we will not abandon the cross; we will welcome advancement while we take on Christ's sufferings.
The Deaf Ministry I see in this 21st century is one that has a message that is clear and culturally relevant to each and every rising generation and free of purposeless, man-made traditions. As the Deaf ministry grows, there is a resulting change in the culture of the church where it resides. God’s truths and principles are eternal - they never change and neither does our message. However, our methods and emphasis do and must change.
